Job Description

Overview

The Payroll Administrator at The Middlesex Corporation is responsible for managing and administering the company's payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing while maintaining compliance with regulations. This role requires attention to detail, reviewing payroll records, processing multi-state payrolls, and generating reports.

Key responsibilities

  • Comply with safety policies and procedures, reporting all accidents and incidents
  • Review time sheets and payroll data to resolve discrepancies
  • Process multi-state weekly payroll, including check printing and distribution
  • Generate and issue employee paychecks and earnings statements
  • Handle employment verifications and payroll-related compliance matters
  • Process payroll paperwork for new employees
  • Prepare and distribute weekly labor and other requested reports
  • Manage payroll tax deposits and reconciliations
  • Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments
  • Maintain and update payroll records

Required skills

  • Minimum of three years' experience in payroll management or accounting software
  • Experience with Viewpoint software and prevailing wage reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and V-lookups
  • Conversational Spanish skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage payroll operations efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork capability
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks
