Job Description

Overview

The Payments Governance Advisor, Principal Associate at Capital One will support end-to-end payments oversight and risk management within the Enterprise Payments Governance and Oversight (EPGO) team. This role involves advising stakeholders, managing risk and controls, and contributing to the continuous improvement of payments risk management processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Advise stakeholders on payments-related business use cases and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Document and manage end-to-end payments use case inventory.
  • Perform enterprise risk assessments of new or modified payment use cases.
  • Identify and remediate payments-related issues in partnership with Business Risk owners.
  • Contribute and lead business reviews across lines of business.
  • Propose new controls and processes to mitigate identified risks.
  • Engage in payments-related projects and process initiatives to support governance.

Required skills

  • Risk management experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Auditing and governance experience
  • Banking or financial services experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Stakeholder engagement and management (minimum 2 years)
  • Project and process management experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office (minimum 1 year)
  • Data manipulation experience (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
