Overview

The H&K Group is seeking an experienced Paving/Roller Operator for their Pikes Creek Division in Hunlock Creek, PA. The role involves operating roller equipment and performing various paving activities to meet production goals on road construction projects. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and willing to switch tasks as needed to support project requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate roller machinery on road construction projects
  • Perform daily equipment checks for proper operating condition
  • Maintain equipment by greasing and checking fluids
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Assist with pre-run markings and paving chores
  • Direct traffic around the work area as required
  • Notify foreman of maintenance or repair needs
  • Shovel asphalt and operate vibratory plate as needed

Required skills

  • Experience with roller machines on highway road construction projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Physical ability to meet job demands
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance procedures
  • Experience with raking, shoveling, and operating screeds
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Four years of highway road construction experience preferred
