Overview

The H&K Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Paving Crew Laborer to join their Maryland Division. This role involves supporting various construction projects by performing a utility capacity, which includes transferring between tasks as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Acquire tools needed for daily operations
  • Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight line
  • Signal operators of construction equipment for alignment and movement
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections
  • Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces
  • Assist with pre-run markings
  • Use a paving lute to fine grade before compaction
  • Operate vibratory plate as necessary
  • Shovel asphalt as required
  • Direct traffic around the work area
