Overview

The Patient Service Representative - Endocrinology at Springfield Clinic plays a key role in discussing insurance coverage, verifying benefits, and educating patients about billing and credit policies. This position entails managing patient inquiries related to past due accounts and ensuring timely payments while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify and secure referrals and coverage prior to treatment
  • Educate patients on the Clinic's billing and credit policies
  • Perform review and action on Bad Debt, Collections, and Denials
  • Maintain proficiency with insurance and billing issues
  • Respond to patient requests in a timely manner
  • Enter and edit patient insurance coverage and demographic information
  • Provide coverage at other Springfield Clinic locations as assigned
  • Comply with incident reporting policies and OSHA training as required

Required skills

  • 2-3 years experience in medical billing and insurance preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills
  • Knowledge of Medicare and other third party payors
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work courteously with patients of all ages
  • Empathy and responsiveness to billing policies
