Overview

The Patient Financial Navigator (PFN) at Cox Medical Center Branson assists patients and families in navigating financial resources and accessing assistance programs. This role involves evaluating the financial situations of uninsured or under-insured patients while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist patients in accessing financial resources and evaluating their financial situations.
  • Determine eligibility for financial assistance and guide patients through the enrollment process.
  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, providing estimates of financial responsibility.
  • Liaison with Patient Financial Services and Care Management teams.
  • Act as an advocate for the patient in resolving financial liabilities.

Required skills

  • 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare or insurance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Teamwork, quality, accountability, and ownership abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
