Overview

The Pathology Physician will work in a Hospital-Based Pathology Lab in Syracuse, New York, to provide coverage due to a physician shortage. The position is for a locum tenens role with coverage needed for 3 to 6 months, and will involve responsibilities such as grossing specimens and cutting frozen sections.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide pathology services in a hospital-based lab
  • Gross specimens and cut frozen sections
  • Work with a team of pathologists and other laboratory staff
  • Supervise other healthcare providers (if required)
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA and NYS certification standards

Required skills

  • AP Board Certified
  • Active NY State license
  • Experience in Clinical Diagnostics
  • Proficiency in Cytopathology
  • Knowledge of pathology lab equipment including Cryostat and Microscopes
  • Familiarity with the EPIC/Beaker documentation system
