Overview

The Part-time Math Instructor/Tutor at Mathnasium of Bethesda is responsible for delivering engaging mathematical instruction to students in grades 1-12 using the Mathnasium method. This role focuses on transforming students' understanding and love for math while providing exceptional customer service in a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver mathematical instruction using the Mathnasium Method
  • Engage and inspire students to build confidence in their math abilities
  • Multitask with multiple students on different topics simultaneously
  • Provide constructive and positive feedback to students
  • Maintain a clean and ordered learning environment
  • Attend staff meetings approximately every 4-6 weeks

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of math at least through Algebra 1, with higher-level math preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team teaching environment
  • Eagerness to learn and undergo ongoing training
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact positively with students and parents
