Overview

A prestigious law firm in Miami seeks an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and demonstrate strong organizational skills alongside initiative.

Key responsibilities

  • Set hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings for attorneys
  • Calendar deadlines for discovery and trial
  • Scan and save all documents
  • Prepare documents for court filing
  • Process invoices for subpoenas and document requests
  • Save email correspondence between attorney and opposing counsel
  • Update and track case and trial lists
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and vendors
  • Handle travel arrangements for attorneys
  • Set up conference rooms for client meetings
  • Request and follow up on medical records
  • Assist other paralegals as needed

Required skills

  • 5+ years of personal/bodily injury litigation experience
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience scheduling and filing pleadings in state and federal courts
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work well within a team
