Job Description

Overview

The Advocates is a growing personal injury law firm looking for a litigation paralegal to join their Spokane team. This role is essential for supporting attorneys and clients through the legal process with a strong emphasis on empathy and professional representation.

Key responsibilities

  • Draft various pleadings, including complaints and motions, and file them with western Washington courts
  • Perform administrative duties such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and contacting witnesses/experts/physicians
  • Manage caseloads and calendars for multiple attorneys, ensuring compliance with local/county specific deadlines
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and arbitration evidence binders
  • Coordinate with and interview clients for discovery requests
  • Coordinate with and interview factual and damages witnesses
  • Gather relevant information from various sources including court rules and Westlaw
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients, maintaining consistent and professional communication regarding case updates and management

Required skills

  • 1-3 years civil litigation experience as a paralegal (preferred)
  • 1+ years of personal injury experience (required)
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous record keeping
  • Ability to think deductively and extrapolate information
  • Proficient in legal research and document management
  • Effective client communication and problem-solving skills
