Overview

FSA Federal is seeking a Civil Rights Paralegal II to support law enforcement initiatives by providing outreach and educational programs regarding civil rights statutes. The role involves program coordination, community outreach, and assisting with civil rights complaints and investigations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement outreach programs related to civil rights awareness
  • Coordinate meetings and maintain communication with program participants
  • Provide professional support in the intake and evaluation of civil rights complaints
  • Facilitate grant applications and manage publicity regarding grant invitations
  • Assist civil rights investigators in gathering evidence and preparing litigation support materials
  • Create and deliver presentations on civil rights topics for various audiences
  • Maintain legal documents and case management for civil rights cases
  • Conduct outreach activities to build relationships within the community and government organizations

Required skills

  • Accredited college degree (bachelor's or higher)
  • At least 2 years of experience in civil litigation
  • 1 year of experience in community outreach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Teams, Outlook)
  • Ability to use automated legal research tools and maintain accurate legal documents
  • Strong understanding of federal and state civil rights laws
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Reliable transportation and U.S. Citizenship required
  • Basic typing skills (minimum 40 words per minute)
