Job Description

Overview

As a Paraeducator at Green Tree School & Services in Philadelphia, you will provide individualized support to students with emotional and behavioral needs, contributing to their academic progress and social skills development. You will collaborate with teachers and therapists to create a safe and supportive learning environment for students with autism and other challenges.

Key responsibilities

  • Support classroom instruction by assisting with lessons and daily activities
  • Reinforce student learning through guided practice and behavioral supports
  • Help implement IEP goals under teacher supervision and collect instructional or behavioral data
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized classroom environment

Required skills

  • Associate degree or higher or completion of at least two years of postsecondary study
  • Experience supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following student support plans
