Job Description

Overview

The Painter/Utility Worker at RIX Industries is responsible for supporting the preparation and painting of compressors and associated parts. This role requires collaboration with production supervisors to ensure timely completion of painting tasks while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide quality, on-time painting of compressors, generators, and associated parts
  • Work with production supervisor to prioritize work orders
  • Mask, prep, and clean all components before applying primer/paint
  • Maintain all paint logs as per company policies
  • Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and practices
  • Maintain the paint booth and equipment, performing weekly cleanings and audits
  • Notify supervisors of supply and tool levels for task completion
  • Participate in cross-training programs as directed
  • Perform other duties in the best interest of the company as directed

Required skills

  • Painter qualification courses
  • Technical school or equivalent work experience
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • Ability to read and understand structural drawings and schematics
  • Basic calculation skills (percentages, ratios, fractions)
  • Basic computer skills and adaptability to software applications
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and basic manufacturing tools
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

What the company offers

  • $22.00 hourly compensation, dependent on experience
