Job Description

Overview

The Painter/Utility Worker at RIX Industries is responsible for the prepping and painting of compressors, including packaging and production support. This full-time role requires working collaboratively with the production supervisor to ensure timely delivery of painted components, while adhering to safety rules and maintaining equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide quality, on-time painting of compressors, generators, and associated parts
  • Work with production supervisor for prioritization of work orders
  • Mask, prep, and clean all components before applying primer/paint
  • Maintain paint logs per company policies
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintain the paint booth and equipment and complete weekly cleanings/audits
  • Notify supervisors of adequate levels of supplies and tools
  • Participate in cross-training programs as directed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management

Required skills

  • Painter qualification courses
  • Technical school or equivalent work experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read structural drawings and schematics
  • Basic math skills including percentages and ratios
  • Basic computer skills and adaptability to various software
  • Understanding of air and gas compressors and basic manufacturing tools
  • Effective communication skills
