Overview

SJS Industrial, a veteran-owned company based in Virginia Beach, is seeking a full-time Painter's Helper. The role primarily involves assisting skilled painters with various tasks related to surface preparation, coating applications, and maintaining quality standards in industrial and marine environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with surface preparation, coating applications, and finishing activities on various projects.
  • Perform tasks such as sanding, grinding, scraping, and cleaning.
  • Mix paints, primers, and coatings according to specifications.
  • Support coating application using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Prepare parts and materials for painting and coating processes.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment while following safety policies.
  • Accurately complete timesheets and required documentation.
  • Assist crew members and perform general labor duties as needed.

Required skills

  • Experience in painting, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and painting tools.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment safely.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in demanding environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Capability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
