Job Description

Overview

The Pain Management Physician Assistant (PA) at iRecruitMD will provide comprehensive care to patients suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions. This role involves collaboration with pain management physicians and a multidisciplinary team to evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, assist with procedures, and support ongoing pain management in both outpatient and procedural settings.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive pain assessments including medical history and physical examinations
  • Evaluate and manage patients with acute, chronic, and complex pain conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans under physician supervision
  • Assist with interventional pain procedures such as injections, nerve blocks, and ablations
  • Provide medication management in compliance with clinical guidelines
  • Order, interpret, and document diagnostic studies and laboratory tests
  • Monitor treatment response and adjust care plans as needed
  • Educate patients and families on pain conditions and treatment options
  • Coordinate care with physical therapy, behavioral health, and other providers
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current national certification as a Physician Assistant
  • Active or eligible state licensure
  • BLS certification
  • Prior experience in pain management, orthopedics, PM&R, neurology, or primary care preferred
  • Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of multimodal and evidence-based pain management strategies
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities
