Overview

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Pain Management Physician Assistant to join their collaborative provider team in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. This role involves providing healthcare services, including medical evaluations, treatment planning, and patient advocacy, under the supervision of attending physicians, while also contributing to quality improvement initiatives and managing ongoing treatment for pain management patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide healthcare services to patients under supervision or in collaboration with attending physicians.
  • Conduct medical evaluations and develop patient management and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate patient care effectively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as appropriate.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct virtual care services for patient assessment and treatment.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and participate in continuing medical education.
  • Participate in the teaching of multidisciplinary students and physician residents.

Required skills

  • Board eligible or board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey
  • Experience in patient assessment and pain management (preferred but not required for new grads)
  • Competency in electronic medical records
  • Ability to perform physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests
