Overview

The Package Handler at Tractor Supply Company in Nampa, Idaho is responsible for tasks related to receiving, selecting, and loading store inventory for shipment while adhering to company standards. This entry-level role requires the handling of merchandise and operating material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments and direct merchandise to appropriate areas
  • Check inventory against bills of lading and packing slips
  • Maintain records of goods received and reject damaged or misdirected goods
  • Identify, label, and palletize merchandise for shipping
  • Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies
  • Move merchandise using hand trucks or forklifts
  • Ensure job assignments are completed accurately and safely
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Required skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in a distribution center
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds continuously
  • Basic reading, speaking, and understanding of English
  • Ability to perform basic math and count accurately
  • Knowledge of RF terminal and bar code scanner, 2-way radio, computer terminal
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment
