Overview

The Outreach & Marketing Specialist 1 position at the Helen Ross McNabb Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, focuses on enhancing community relations through outreach and marketing. This role involves coordinating events, building partnerships, and supporting the Center's awareness initiatives to help individuals navigate challenging life situations.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate outreach and community tabling events
  • Represent the McNabb Center at community events
  • Build relationships with local organizations for volunteer recruitment
  • Respond to requests for expert speakers and coordinate engagements
  • Manage Community Relations for awareness events
  • Coordinate short-term volunteer projects
  • Assist with marketing and promotional activities and content creation
  • Support center events such as ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings

Required skills

  • Experience in outreach and community marketing
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of content creation and social media monitoring
  • Basic competency in office applications like Word and Excel
  • Some experience with Adobe design products preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field

What the company offers

  • Starting salary of approximately $22.87/hour based on experience
  • Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, with some nights and weekends required
  • In-person, non-exempt, hourly position with frequent travel
