Overview

DirectShifts is seeking a responsible Physician Assistant to support doctors and facilitate patient recovery in New Jersey. The role involves applying medical techniques under physician supervision and addressing the diverse needs of patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain patient health by providing medical services under physician supervision
  • Identify short-term and long-range patient care issues
  • Recommend options and courses of action for patient care
  • Implement physician directives
  • Assess patient health through interviews and physical examinations
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests and interpret results
  • Document patient care services in patient and department records
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections and suturing
  • Instruct and counsel patients on health and emotional issues
  • Develop and implement patient-management plans
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Adhere to infection-control policies and regulations
  • Comply with legal and professional requirements
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Provide educational opportunities to health care team staff

Required skills

  • Current and active PA license in New Jersey
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant
