Overview

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Orthopedics Physician Assistant to provide inpatient coverage at Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, from July 1 to December 31. This role requires a Pennsylvania license and involves handling trauma cases during night shifts, working independently with backup from an orthopedic surgeon as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient orthopedic coverage with a focus on trauma care
  • Manage 5-10 patients per shift in a department with 12-30 beds
  • Perform procedures such as reductions, placing traction pins, and suturing
  • Work independently during night shifts from Monday to Thursday, 6 PM to 6 AM
  • Contact orthopedic surgeon on call for assistance when needed

Required skills

  • Pennsylvania medical license
  • Experience in orthopedic trauma care
  • Inpatient care experience
  • Proficiency in suturing and trauma procedures
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Cerner
