Job Description

Overview

The Orthopedics Physician Assistant will collaborate with attending orthopedic surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care, including preparing patient histories, developing plans of care, and documenting clinical findings. This role encompasses various responsibilities, such as conducting diagnostic studies, assisting in surgical procedures, and participating in hospital rounds.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and document patient histories and develop care plans
  • Participate in daily rounds and document treatment plans
  • Order and perform diagnostic studies like EMG, X-ray, CT, MRI, and bone scans
  • Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic orthopedic procedures
  • Assist in surgery as first assist and other surgical duties
  • Evaluate inpatient orthopedic conditions and formulate treatment plans
  • Serve as primary orthopedic call provider for the Emergency Department
  • Assist orthopedic surgeons with inpatient care
