Job Description

Overview

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified General Orthopedic Surgeon to join their multispecialty group in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This full-time, hospital-employed position offers a range of orthopedic services, including trauma, total joints, and hand surgery within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform general orthopedic procedures, including trauma and total joints
  • Participate in a 1:3 call rotation
  • Work in a Level III facility with 8 operating rooms
  • Provide patient care with dedicated medical assistant support
  • Collaborate with local PCPs and specialists for patient referrals

Required skills

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in orthopedic surgery
  • Completion of U.S. residency training
  • Ability to perform orthopedic procedures
  • Experience preferred, but new graduates considered
  • Eligible for New Mexico medical licensure
  • J1 visa support available
