Overview

The OR/Surgery RN Residency at OhioHealth is designed for registered nurses transitioning to the operating room setting. This role includes on-call requirements and emphasizes the development of skills needed for intraoperative care through a customized Nurse Residency Program.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments
  • Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses
  • Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and revise care plans as needed
  • Participate in process improvement activities for clinical quality and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide nursing care

Required skills

  • Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio
  • Knowledge in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Ability to commit to a 30 minute on-call response time
