Overview

The Order Picker at Tractor Supply Company is responsible for receiving store inventory, selecting merchandise for shipping, and loading it onto trailers. This entry-level position involves performing tasks with a focus on accuracy, safety, productivity, and quality in a distribution center environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments and direct merchandise to the appropriate area.
  • Perform inventory checks and maintain records of goods received.
  • Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise.
  • Pick store supply and UPS orders and prepare for shipment.
  • Conduct cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Move merchandise using manual and powered equipment.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of merchandise orders.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in a distribution center
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds
  • Basic understanding of English language
  • Basic counting and math skills
  • Experience with RF terminals, barcode scanners, and computers
  • Knowledge of safety compliance and operating material handling equipment
