Overview

Apparent Technologies Inc is seeking experienced Orbital Welders to join their semiconductor manufacturing operations in Austin, Texas. The role involves high-purity welding and cleanroom fabrication, with candidates expected to produce ultra-high-purity gas line assemblies and precision components in a controlled environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform orbital welding of hastelloy and stainless steel tubing and gas lines
  • Manufacture ultra-high-purity (UHP) weldments and assemblies in a cleanroom environment
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate orbital welding equipment
  • Configure purge systems and gas mixing equipment
  • Perform fit-up, alignment, tacking, scribing, cutting, and fabrication operations
  • Produce vacuum-tight welds on precision assemblies
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld procedures, and engineering drawings
  • Maintain dimensional tolerances and quality standards
  • Clean, label, etch, bag, and package assemblies according to cleanliness requirements
  • Create and document weld coupons and inspection records
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on welding equipment
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams
  • Follow cleanroom procedures and safety standards

Required skills

  • Previous orbital welding experience
  • Experience in semiconductor or ultra-high-purity manufacturing
  • 3+ years of related welding or fabrication experience
  • Familiarity with welding stainless steel tubing and UHP gas line assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions
  • Understanding of welding procedures and purge processes
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools
  • Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
  • Welding certification or technical training is a plus
