Job Description

Overview

GPD Optoelectronics is seeking a Wire Bonder for their manufacturing facility in Salem, NH. The role involves precision assembly and testing of optoelectronic components in a cleanroom environment, supporting production operations while working closely with both Engineering and Quality teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform manual and semi-automated wire bonding of chips and die to ceramic substrates and packages
  • Set up and operate wire bond equipment per approved work instructions
  • Handle optoelectronic devices using ESD, cleanliness, and contamination control techniques
  • Conduct visual inspection of assemblies under microscope to applicable standards
  • Perform basic electrical testing and advanced testing as required
  • Document and report nonconforming materials or process issues
  • Maintain accurate production records and inspection results
  • Package finished assemblies according to work instructions
  • Follow cleanroom protocols and maintain material traceability

Required skills

  • High School/GED or Technical trade school
  • 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing or technical environment
  • Prior experience in microelectronics or optoelectronic assembly preferred
  • Wire bonding experience highly desired
  • Ability to work under a microscope and handle small components
  • Familiarity with ESD controls and cleanroom practices
  • Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
