Overview

The Ophthalmology Physician role at Dane Street offers a flexible telework opportunity focused on reviewing insurance appeals and medical claims. Physicians will utilize their clinical expertise to determine the medical necessity of services in compliance with guidelines and standards of care while working as independent contractors.

Key responsibilities

  • Review medical records and respond to client queries using criteria set by clients or recognized evidence-based guidelines.
  • Ensure clear and concise rationale for determinations, providing adequate supporting documentation.
  • Utilize current criteria and resources for objective decision-making and rationale in reviews.
  • Make phone calls as required by state or client specifics.
  • Review each case within an average of 15-30 minutes and ensure timely return of cases.
  • Maintain proper credentialing, state licenses, and any necessary certifications.
  • Attend required orientation and training sessions.
  • Address quality assurance issues, complaints, regulatory issues, and audits as needed.
