Overview

The Operations Specialist 1 at Mid Kansas Cooperative plays a crucial role in supporting the agronomy, grain, and feed departments. This position involves duties such as loading and unloading fertilizer and feed, handling grain, and maintaining equipment and facilities, all while prioritizing customer service and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the agronomy, grain, and feed departments.
  • Pick up and deliver fertilizer equipment and feed.
  • Handle incoming grain by unloading trucks and maintaining grain quality.
  • Load out grain to trucks or rail cars while adhering to legal weight limits.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of stored grain and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Observe and promote safety regulations and practices.
  • Maintain and document equipment and facility upkeeping.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to generate repeat business.

Required skills

  • Operational knowledge of all machinery in the elevator
  • Ability to obtain and maintain 7B Fumigation License
  • Knowledge of fertilizer, seed, and grains
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds
  • Teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in safety compliance and regulations
