Overview

The Operations Specialist 1 at Mid Kansas Cooperative will assist in the agronomy, grain, and feed departments. This role involves duties such as the pick-up and delivery of fertilizer and feed, grain handling, and equipment maintenance while promoting safety and customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in agronomy, grain, and feed departments
  • Handle incoming grain by unloading trucks and testing as necessary
  • Load out grain to trucks or rail cars following legal limits
  • Maintain the quality of stored grain through periodic inspections
  • Unload feed from supply trucks and load into customer vehicles
  • Load and deliver fertilizer as directed
  • Promote a safety culture by assessing activities for dangers
  • Maintain clean and orderly facilities and equipment
  • Document all maintenance in writing
  • Provide outstanding customer service

Required skills

  • Operational knowledge of machinery in the grain elevator
  • Ability to operate the elevator safely
  • Experience in grain, fertilizer, and seed handling
  • Ability to obtain 7B Fumigation License
  • Strong teamwork and independent work skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
