Job Description

Overview

The Operations Analyzer Technician I at WaterOne is responsible for the operation and maintenance of on-line water quality analyzers and sampling systems across treatment facilities and distribution systems. This role ensures the validity of data produced by these machines and requires candidates to work specific hours over the weekend.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and calibrate online analytical instruments.
  • Perform routine data verification on all analyzers.
  • Operate and document chlorine and turbidity measuring equipment according to regulations.
  • Maintain logs of maintenance activities.
  • Manage reagent, buffer, and standard inventories.
  • Independently complete laboratory testing and maintain a clean analyzer laboratory.
  • Develop knowledge of water treatment processes and chemical feed systems.
  • Communicate status of parts inventory to the shop supervisor.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid class I Kansas Water Supply System Operator Certificate (or acquire within 18 months)
  • Ability to solve complex problems using math, chemistry, and lab knowledge
  • Familiarity with SAP and accurate operational data entry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and electrical control systems
  • Basic mechanical abilities and plumbing skills
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Valid driver's license
