Overview

BAS Healthcare is seeking a full-time Oncology Physician Assistant to join their prestigious health center in Santa Monica, California. The role involves providing integrated care in surgical oncology and general surgery, focusing primarily on GI cancer surgery, with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide full-time locum coverage for 5 days a week in clinic and inpatient rounding
  • Conduct daily inpatient rounding and ER consults as needed
  • Assist in the clinic primarily on Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Manage in-basket tasks, patient calls, test results, and post-op concerns
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Complete privileging documentation within 5 days of receipt
  • Maintain a minimum of 25 case logs within the last two years

Required skills

  • Board Certification Eligible - Surgical/General Oncology PA
  • Experience in GI Cancer Surgery
  • Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records system
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred but not required)
  • Licensed to practice in California
