Job Description

Overview

The On Site Maintenance Technician at Rural Communities Housing Development Corporation is responsible for maintaining buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and healthy living environment. The role involves carrying out routine inspections, organizing repairs, and adhering to a preventative maintenance schedule.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and quarterly routine inspections.
  • Record maintenance tasks on the schedule and provide reports to the Project Manager.
  • Order maintenance supplies as needed.
  • Prepare units for occupancy (clean, disinfect, paint, patch, etc.).
  • Replace windows, doors, door locks, and lights.
  • Maintain walkways and parking areas free of debris.
  • Oversee maintenance of lawn/garden areas and sprinkler systems.
  • Report health and safety hazards to the Property Manager.
  • Maintain work order log and filing systems.
  • Solicit bids for necessary work as directed.
  • Execute rehabilitation plans and perform other duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • Experience in routine repair and maintenance of buildings and landscaping.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Understanding of repair and maintenance instructions.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to use own vehicle for work.
