Overview

The Oceanographer/Meteorologist role within the US Navy involves serving as a geophysical expert in meteorology, oceanography, hydrography, and related fields. The primary mission is to support fleet operations by providing environmental data that ensures safety and effectiveness in naval operations, both at sea and ashore.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the collection, processing, prediction, exploitation, and dissemination of environmental data.
