Overview

As an Oceanographer with the U.S. Navy, you will serve as a geophysical expert focusing on meteorology, oceanography, hydrography, and geophysics to support naval operations. Your mission will include ensuring the safety of navigation and effectively utilizing environmental data to enhance mission success for the Navy.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the collection, processing, prediction, exploitation, and dissemination of environmental data.
  • Ensure safety of navigation and access to denied waters.
  • Lead diverse teams ranging from small units to large commands.
  • Serve as the sole geophysical expert at an operational command.
