Job Description

Overview

The Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner at iRecruitMD will provide occupational and employee health services in Grants Pass, Oregon. The role is centered on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses, alongside delivering regulatory and preventive health services to enhance workplace safety and employee well-being.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage work-related injuries and occupational illnesses
  • Provide treatment plans, follow-up care, and return-to-work evaluations
  • Conduct pre-employment, post-offer, and fitness-for-duty physical examinations
  • Perform regulatory exams and services, including DOT physicals and OSHA-related evaluations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies and imaging
  • Educate patients and employers on injury prevention, workplace safety, and health promotion
  • Coordinate care with employers, case managers, and specialists
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain clinical competency

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current national certification as a PA or NP
  • Active state licensure and prescriptive authority
  • Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, or primary care preferred
  • Knowledge of workers compensation processes and occupational health regulations
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
