Job Description

Overview

The Occupational Medicine Physician in Bakersfield, CA will collaborate with the Center Leadership Team to ensure the delivery of high-quality occupational healthcare. The role emphasizes leadership in medical policies and programs, focusing on efficient healthcare for business, industry, and patients.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care as the Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for injuries
  • Collaborate with therapists and specialists to optimize clinical outcomes
  • Manage clinicians and support staff while ensuring compliance with supervisory requirements
  • Enhance processes to minimize visit times and improve patient experiences
  • Communicate with employers about new injuries and significant clinical changes
  • Participate in team meetings to improve quality, patient safety, and case management
  • Maintain relationships with center clients and payers
  • Support colleague success through all aspects of the talent life cycle
  • Contribute to the center's budget and key business metrics

Required skills

  • M.D. or D.O. degree with an unrestricted medical license in California
  • Board certification or eligibility by relevant medical boards
  • DOT certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment
  • BLS, ACLS certified; DEA required
  • Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care or emergency settings
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT regulations, and EMR systems
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
