Job Description

Overview

Aya Locums is seeking an Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time position in Stockton, California. The role will involve working in an outpatient occupational medicine clinic focused on employer-based and injury care, with standard 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat occupational medicine patients
  • Conduct injury care and follow-up visits
  • Perform return-to-work assessments
  • Complete all medical documentation by the end of shift
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to maintain standards of care
  • Communicate with employer representatives regarding injuries or status changes
  • Guide clinical team members in absence of supervising physician
  • Maintain compliance with state practice acts and Workers Compensation regulations
  • Participate in center operations, workflow optimization, and quality initiatives
  • Engage in patient education and ensure high standards of customer service
  • Support clinical systems: documentation, coding, charge capture, and order completion

Required skills

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Occupational Medicine
  • Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program
  • Active California license
  • DEA certification
  • BLS and AED certification (ACLS preferred)
  • NRCME (DOT Medical Examiner) certification
  • Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and medical office procedures
