Overview

The Obstetrics Physician Assistant at Ochsner Health will be responsible for examining patients, diagnosing clinical conditions, and providing appropriate treatments and prescriptions. This role requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to formulate and execute treatment plans while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Examine patients to diagnose clinical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment regimens for identified medical conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to formulate treatment plans.
  • Record patient encounters in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Request medical evaluations and make necessary referrals.
  • Ensure accurate coding of all patient visits.
  • Comply with relevant healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of current laws and standards affecting medical practices.

Required skills

  • Board certified or eligible for certification in primary specialty
  • Licensed Practicing Provider MD/DO
  • Experience in patient care and medical compliance
  • Proficient in Electronic Health Records
  • Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment planning
