Overview

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Locum OB/GYN Hospitalist for 24-hour in-house maternity coverage in Des Moines, Iowa. The position involves working in an inpatient setting with no outpatient or telehealth responsibilities, focusing solely on obstetric emergencies and deliveries.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour in-house maternity coverage
  • Handle emergency obstetric cases in the OB Emergency Department
  • Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections
  • Care for unassigned OB patients
  • Participate in the maternity transport team
  • Manage a patient volume of approximately 1,389 OBED visits per year

Required skills

  • Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN
  • Active Iowa license or IMLC eligibility
  • Experience with emergency medicine and maternity care
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Epic
  • Ability to start as soon as possible
  • Clean malpractice and background history
