Overview

GHR Healthcare is seeking a board-certified OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician for a locum tenens position in Davenport, Iowa. The role involves providing essential women's health coverage at a Level III Trauma Center with flexible scheduling options for weekday and weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Triage and deliver hospital OB patients (average 65-80 deliveries/month)
  • Respond to OB/GYN ER calls and round on unit patients
  • Manage low and high-risk pregnancies (approximately 40% low risk, 60% high risk)
  • Perform routine and complicated deliveries including vaginal, C-section, and breech
  • Conduct obstetric procedures such as FHR interpretation and OB ultrasounds
  • Perform labor and delivery procedures including repair of lacerations and VBACs
  • Provide gynecologic surgical care including tubal ligation and laparoscopic diagnostics
  • Collaborate with physicians, certified nurse midwives, and clinical support staff
  • Document patient care using Cerner EMR

Required skills

  • Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)
  • Active Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibility
  • Fetal monitoring proficiency
  • Minimum 1 year recent OB/GYN hospitalist experience
  • Clean malpractice and background history
  • Ability to provide two professional references
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday plus weekend availability
