Overview

The OA - PACKAGING role at Butterball involves performing various repetitive tasks to process, cut, and package turkey products while adhering to stringent safety, quality, and sanitation standards. The position supports daily production goals in a team-oriented environment, emphasizing the importance of food safety principles and personal growth within the company.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform varying manual, repetitive tasks to process meat from the turkeys.
  • Ensure product safety and product defense in the plant.
  • Follow all GMP and HACCP procedures related to product safety.
  • Support all Food Safety initiatives.
  • Monitor equipment operation and report malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Rotate through various functions within the processing department as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or related preferred
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently and in groups
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work
  • Ability to train and maintain a safe work environment
  • Knowledge of HACCP, FDA, and OSHA requirements
  • Ability to use utensils/tools and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Physical ability to meet job requirements and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing preferred
