Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope; act as the point of contact for internal and external clients; build and manage client relationshipsOversee teams of tax professionals/assistants working on client projectsHelp manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and the budget for projectsAdvise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and adviceOffer assistance in assessing tax impact on clients, develop tax arguments to support conclusions, and suggest plans to clientsParticipate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm, presenting a positive image of KPMG and its leadershipAdditional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:Perform FAS 109 accounting for the income tax of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and non-SEC clientsUnderstand and analyze the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules affecting the taxpayer Qualifications: Minimum five years of experience as a tax manager with a public accounting firm; corporate tax experience in the financial services industry specifically funds/private equity and real estateBachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Licensed CPA, JD/LLM or EA, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that listProficiency in the taxation of corporations, consolidated entities, partnerships, and other flow-through entitiesExceptional skills in reviewing 1120, 1120S, 1120-REIT and 1065 tax returns, including complex partner allocationsApplied working knowledge of GAAP, accounting procedures, C-Corp tax regulations and ASC 740Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams; excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial informationAdditional Qualifications for Senior Manager:Minimum eight years of recent corporate tax experience with a well-regarded accounting and/or law firmExcellent research and writing skills KPMG LLP and its affiliates and subsidiaries ("KPMG") complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
