Overview

Micron is seeking a Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer to act as a vital link between construction and operations in their manufacturing facilities. This role supports the full lifecycle of critical electrical systems, initially focusing on design review and commissioning before transitioning into operations ownership, ensuring the reliability and compliance of electrical distribution systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Review electrical design documents and support design coordination activities.
  • Participate in submittal reviews, RFIs, system inspections, and commissioning activities.
  • Perform and interpret electrical calculations using industry standard tools.
  • Manage electrical distribution equipment and backup power infrastructure post construction.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for electrical events and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation accuracy using engineering tools and support training for personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, MCCs, VFDs, and emergency/backup systems
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards
  • Proficiency in electrical modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM) and BIM platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks)
  • Experience in high reliability or mission critical facilities
  • Exposure to electrical system cybersecurity frameworks
  • Understanding of IoT, smart grid technologies, or Industry 4.0 applications
  • Experience leading or mentoring operations or maintenance personnel
