Job Description

Overview

Joyce University is seeking a part-time Nursing Simulation Faculty member to enhance healthcare education by guiding nursing students through immersive learning experiences. The role emphasizes simulation-based education and aims to develop students' clinical judgment, confidence, and compassion in preparation for real-world practice.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate dynamic simulation experiences using Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice
  • Lead prebriefing and debriefing sessions to promote reflection and critical thinking
  • Partner with faculty to design and enhance curriculum-based scenarios
  • Mentor and support students in developing clinical judgment
  • Deliver constructive feedback to build student confidence
  • Collaborate with simulation operations staff to ensure high-quality learning environments
  • Integrate advanced technologies such as high-fidelity simulators and virtual reality
  • Support interprofessional education and innovative teaching strategies
  • Contribute to simulation center goals and continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah
  • CHSE certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • 2+ years of simulation education or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of simulation pedagogy and debriefing techniques
  • Understanding of adult learning principles
  • Ob and/or Peds experience is a plus
