Job Description

Overview

The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner at Geisinger is responsible for coordinating and supervising educational activities to promote the professional development of nurses. This role involves collaborating with management, developing educational programs, and supporting the implementation of electronic medical records to enhance healthcare practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise the delivery of educational activities on assigned unit
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing professional development
  • Assist in the orientation process for new staff
  • Provide classroom instruction and ongoing education based on assessments and requests
  • Design and evaluate competency programs and skills assessments
  • Participate in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement activities
  • Collaborate with management to support unit goals and processes
  • Mentor and coach Career Enhancement Program staff
  • Communicate significant issues and assist in process improvement plans

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
