Overview

The Nurse Educator - Operating Room at UNC Health plays a vital role in enhancing the educational development of nursing staff, patients, and families within the operating room environment. This advanced position requires limited supervision and emphasizes collaboration, mentoring, and leadership in clinical education and evidence-based practice.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinates staff development and educational programs for nursing staff
  • Acts as a resource and role model for evidence-based practice
  • Mentors nursing students and assists with their clinical placements

  • Conducts learning needs assessments and plans educational programs

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina
  • Three years of experience in tertiary care
  • Two years of clinical experience in the assigned specialty
  • CPR certification for Home Health/Hospice
  • Knowledge of clinical education and staff development
  • Experience with evidence-based practice and research
