Overview

The Nurse Assistant or NA Trainee will provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff at L.E. Cox Medical Centers. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with patient hygiene, and reporting changes in patient conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff
  • Take vitals and report changes in patient condition
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, and moving patients
  • Change linens and perform other assigned duties
  • Obtain information on patient condition as requested

Required skills

  • 3 months experience as a nursing assistant, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years
  • Completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program or 90 days in NA Trainee position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task
