Overview

The Nurse Assistant or NA Trainee position at L.E. Cox Medical Centers involves providing basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff while in a clinical learning environment. This role offers training for unlicensed assistive personnel and includes a competency assessment at the end of the program.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care activities such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, and moving patients.
  • Change linens and assist with other duties as assigned by nursing staff.
  • Obtain and report information on patient conditions to nursing staff.
  • Participate in both classroom and clinical training.
  • Complete a competency assessment to validate learning at the end of the training program.
