Overview

Duke Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join their team at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. This PRN position involves various technical tasks related to the use of radioactive materials and imaging instrumentation, contributing to the hospital's commitment to compassionate patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in technical procedures for in vivo and in vitro studies
  • Operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation
  • Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for patient administration
  • Evaluate recorded images for technical quality
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and prepare records related to radioactive materials
  • Provide instruction and technical guidance to radiologic technology students and new employees
  • Administer thyroid therapy and ensure proper patient treatment under supervision
  • Assist in quality assurance programs for equipment calibration and maintenance

Required skills

  • Experience in Nuclear Medicine
  • Knowledge of radiation protection and safety
  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification within 18 months of employment
  • BLS certification
  • Ability to use office-related computer software
  • IV placement and management skills
